shadowartist's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Drowning It's Monday again. I'm sitting here in my messy room, typing to the sounds of geese in the background and my stomach calling out for a little Mountain Dew nourishment.... *takes a sip* Ah, much better. I had quite an interesting time at school today. It went pretty normal in my first 4 periods other than the fact that I drew through the first three. Then, I walked to Chemistry after lunch with Amber, like always, and said goodbye as she went into her class and I went into mine... As soon as I walked through the door and breathed in those horrible, familiar fumes my throat immediately closed. I gaged and chocked and wheezed all through that period, just as I had worried. I thought it would never end until finally the bell rang and I all but dashed out the door in hopes for some fresh air. However, I guess it was too late because I was coughing and wheezing all the way up to Chinese and all the way through Chinese. My friends Kathleen, Jenny, Anna, and Sean were all saying I looked like death and wanted me to go to the nurse's office. I didn't really want to do that, but by the mid part of the class... I had no choice. I was sent coughing and wheezing all the way down two hallways, to my locker to put away my books, down a flight of stairs, down another curvey hallway, and to the clinic in the middle of the first hallway. At that point, I felt like I was drowning. With a gasp of relief, I opened the door to the clinic... and the nurse just happened to be on the phone. She had me wait for 20 minutes just so she could talk to some kid's mom about not taking his medicine. While this is happening, I was on the couch wheezing like crazy and nearly hyproventalating. She finally finished with him and was quick to send me home after a fight with my mom on the phone. She kept acting like it was a burden to pick me up and kept yelling at me for breathing hard. I finally said, "Look, obviously this is a burden for you! I'll just go on my merry way to Health and you can get on with your day!" She didn't like that to say the least and I heard about it later after she got me from school. Anyways, we don't know what chemical caused it, but it was definitely a chemical. My mom gave me a few cups of coffee and a pop-sickle to help open up my lungs again. After that, I got to go see my ducks and hug Carlos a couple of times... He really doesn't like that. 5:57 p.m. - 2003-11-10 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
